The holidays have passed, and we have survived. Things went reasonably okay. My family got a little high strung and stressed out, but that's to be expected. Kids got tons of clothes, thank goodness. So now, all that is left is the Jungbauer New Year's Party, which is sure to be a blast. Then, onward with the renevations! Floors, walls, fixtures, and "guests" who don't seem to be going anywhere.

Twas the Night...

Last night's party went very well, I must say. My living room looks Christmassy and cosy, no? The kids had a ball, everyone ate until we reached critical mass, and my brother-in-law gave me official permission to pimp him out. Little does he know I've been trying for years, I'm just not a very good cupid. So, I'm taking applications if anyone wants to be my sister-in-law! I must say, I lucked out with Ryan's family, I like them all. Jerry even came and stayed a few hours! Now we must switch gears and prepare for my family's get-together. This will be the first year we don't buy for adults, so we'll se how it goes. Tonight will be spent baking cookies for Santa, wrapping last-minute gifts, and telling the kids to go to sleep.

Another Christmas Miracle!

Well, there may not be a light at the end of the tunnel, but there is now one in my living room! It seems like ever since i agreed to buy the family homestead, there has been one hassle after another. Plumbing backing up, raw sewage in the carpet, pulling up said carpet before mold sets in, more plumbing cloggs, and most recently the electricity going out in the living room. We thought the breaker needed replacing, but apparently no one carries our breakers. Uncle Larry came to replace some outlets and magically the problem was fixed! And he relpaced overhead lights to boot! Man, he's a useful guy. Just when I was beginning to think homeownership sucks, Christmas is saved!

Party Time!

Today was a great day! We had our annual Christmas Party. Each team provides entertainment, and ours rocked! The puppet show was a hit and I think we have adequately raised the bar. We also took our second annual team pic for this year's Christmas card, which I think turned out awsome. Lana had the idea, she's so smart. I think I am finally getting into the season, and it's about time.

Shopping!

Last night, Ryan and I spent two hours and $400 at the Target. Now, I'm not one to lay down the big bucks for Christmas, but everything the kids want is expensive. I miss the old days when you could get a whole mess of toys, not spend a lot, and the kids would be happy. Now, my kids aren't greedy and are generally grateful for whatever they get, but I'd love to find a "wow" present. Unfortunately, wow=Wii, and Wii is not happeneing. I think they will both like what I picked out (except Julius, but he has accepted the fact that he will always get clothing, no matter how often he runs around in his 'roos!).

Feeling oh-so techno

Yea! I'm so proud of myself. I have conquered this blog-set-up thing all by myself. I'm not sure what I'll be writing about, but you never know. I added a slide show from my work's Christmas party we had last weekend. Way fun!
